Bobbin lace is a lacemaking technique in which lengths of thread wound on bobbins are twisted and braided. As the work progresses, the lace is held in place with pins placed in a lace pillow following a pattern. In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of tape laces from a contemporary standpoint. We will be focusing on cloth stitch, sewings, and 2-pair fillings. Students will learn about regional tape laces and how to apply their logic to create their own designs. Students will work towards making a simple tape lace.
