As part of New York Textile Month, Brooklyn Lace Guild and the Textile Arts Center are teaming up to host an open house to showcase the work of our members. Join us at the Textile Arts Center in Brooklyn (505 Carroll St.) on Saturday, September 28th from 6pm to 9pm to meet our members, watch lacemaking demonstrations, and see our finished work (including bobbin lace, needle lace, tatting, crochet, and more). Our co-founder Devon Thein will showcasing a selection of exquisite antique lace from her collection and generously sharing bits of her extensive knowledge of lace history and construction with visitors. For those who are interested in trying their hand at making lace, we will have a small bobbin lace pillow set up for guests to try a cloth stitch pattern.
If you have been meaning to take a class at TAC or drop by a BLG meeting, or if you are simply interested in beautiful textiles, now is your chance to stop by and say hello! We look forward to seeing you there.
